Ms. Brooks adds trusts, estate, elder law and business planning to family law practice
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Mahoney Nashatka Richmond, PLLC is proud to announce the addition of Attorney L. Ashley Brooks to the boutique-style family law firm in Virginia Beach’s Town Center. Ashley brings her extensive skills as a wills, trusts, estates/elder law and business planning attorney to what MNR Law does best: divorces, child custody, adoption, separation agreements and prenuptials.
“Ashley is a much-welcomed addition to MNR Law, as she diversifies what we now offer our family law clients,” says founding attorney Andrew T. Richmond. “We believe her areas of expertise add another, vital layer to what people need to ensure their futures are secure and taken care of. “
Ashley is a native of Roanoke, Va., receiving her undergraduate’s degree from Liberty University. She graduated from the Regent University School of Law, which brought her to Virginia Beach 16 years ago.
Ashley enjoys the one-on-one relationships she has with her clients, not only as a planner but as a trusted adviser. For 13 years she has dedicated her time to helping individuals, families and businesses plan and navigate the legal challenges that arise along the way.
Ashley continues to serve clients at MNR Law by providing counsel on how best to leave their legacies and how to administer those plans for the best use, protection and disposition of their hard-earned assets.
Ashley realizes that each estate plan must be tailored to the individual. Her role, she knows, is to listen to concerns and goals, and recommend plans and tools to serve her clients’ needs and objectives. Her practice runs the gamut from estate tax, charitable and special needs planning, to Elder Law and assistance qualifying for Medicaid, to representing clients in obtaining guardianship/conservatorship of incapacitated adult family members.
Ashley is also passionate about animal rights issues and child abuse prevention initiatives.
She is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the WealthCounsel, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and Hampton Roads Business Outreach. She also is a long-serving board member of the Children’s Hospital for the King’s Daughters Child Abuse Program.
In her spare time, Ashley loves to hike, garden, ride horses or hang with her two dogs, Evan, a Welsh Corgi, and Harper, a hound-pit-bull mix. She also likes to plan vacations around visiting renowned art museums and galleries all over the world.
Mahoney Nashatka Richmond, PLLC opened in January 2016. Ms. Brooks joins MNR’s four attorneys, who exclusively practice family law, which includes pre-marital and marital agreements, divorce, custody, visitation, non-parent rights, spousal and child support issues, and adoption. Each attorney understands the need to balance knowledge and the complexities of the law with sensitivity in handling family issues.
